Greenhook Fishing is a charity (CIO) that's been established to provide training and full-time employment in boat building, fishing, and related industries. We're working with primarily (but not exclusively) ex-service personnel who have fallen through the traditional resettlement net and individuals who have ended up marginalised by society through issues such as substance misuse, criminality as well as mental health issues.
Developing a fleet of fishing vessels based on a traditional Plymouth Hooker, the boats are under ten meters in length, and are not fitted with an engine. So powered by sail or oar they are able to fish without the restrictions imposed on motor vessels.
These boats will use hand lines to fish for targeted species - contributing to sustainability while having minimal environmental impact.
